Tonight, I directed the communication department’s film coverage of the fall play Trojan Women.
Since I viewed the play previously, as referenced in my post Trojan Women, I feel that I was as prepared as I could be. I didn’t have any outstanding nerves leading up to the show. The only variable was what camera operators I had for the evening.
I was expecting them to not be up to the standard that I’m used to, but overall, I think they did pretty well. Some of the camera operators really knew where they needed to be without me telling them, and others needed that guidance.
I worked as my own Technical Director for the show, and my professor didn’t hover over me, which is nice. I was worried that he would do that, which would have impeded the process.
The theater department seemed pleased with the performance and the taping.
