War of Existence Screening – 60 second spot

Earlier this month, I wrote about covering War of Existence, a feature film directed by local filmmaker Eric White. The event I covered was the film’s screening at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, Illinois.

The first thing that I did with the footage was create a 60 second spot, which I had intended to air through one of the news shows on a public access channel I volunteer with. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to have worked out as I would have liked. The spot won’t be shown on the station, and I may very well not be submitting my work there in the future.

In any case, I wanted the filmmaker to be able to use the spot to promote his film, so I uploaded it to my Vimeo for him to share through social media. It’s not the same as the feeling of having it aired on television, but in this day and age, it can still reach as many people, if not more.

If you’re interested in finding out more about War of Existence, you can visit its official site here and its Facebook here.

I still plan on doing a longer video that blends my coverage of the screening, Q&A, and interviews. When that’s done, I’ll be uploading it online as well.
