The Doctor is tasked with remaining on Earth and guarding a vault that holds a deadly secret. When he meets Bill though, his adventurous nature gets the better of him and he repeatedly leaves his post to travel with his new companion in the TARDIS.
This post is a little late, but I’ve been thinking about it, and I felt that I did have a few things to say.
I’ll begin by saying that compared to the previous episodes in this season, I really enjoyed this one. It had that level of suspense and danger and creativity that is so distinct of Doctor Who, but that I felt was missing in this season thus far.
However, the ending of the episode turned everything that had happened into a big hot mess of plot holes and confusion.
Anyone who knows me, will agree that I’m a pretty big fan of Doctor Who. I have a TARDIS blanket on my bed, and I wore a TARDIS phone case on my iPhone until it literally fell apart. My wallpaper was the inside of the 9th Doctor’s ship and my lock screen was a weeping angel all the way up until my phone was replaced.
This doesn’t change the fact that I was very disappointed in the premiere of season 8 of the new Who series, and therefore the debut of Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor. I don’t think I will really be making any posts about future Who episodes in this season, but in case they end up being anything like this episode, I won’t be making any promises.
